Why not introduce yourself to other members of the Forum.

Most of you know me, I'm Ollie but am aka Pugil on various Forums, including this one. My profile should be on the Cambridge Academy website. Please click on Cambridge Academy Home Page above if you want to find out more. As for the rest of you, let's hear what you've got to say about yourselves.

Hello, I'm Stuart and I've been doing canne de combat for nearly a year now.

I've been to one competition, the Europeans in Strasburg, and came 13th which was very pleasing.

There's quite a few new faces coming along to train on Monday nights... come along and try it out!

As well as canne, I also do a lot of moderate cycling (especially now the weather is improving: heading out for a picnic now and then is definitely on the agenda). I also think I can play rock guitar - and drums (although the neighbours might tell a different story), and I exercise the old grey matter playing board/war games.

Having returned to Savate (or at least sparring) last Wednesday after 3-4 years "away" - due to slipping on a wet floor and cracking both the ribs, that my ex GF so genorously broke for me - ahh the joys of dating a well hard, full contact Muay Thai tournament lass - DON'T MESS! smile.gif

I realise that I'm not as fit (or young as I used to be). But hay...that be life, that be.

Martial arts experience:
Trained Uechi Ryu twice a week for 3-4 years ....including having my Sensai jump up and down on me and ritually being smacked with a bamboo cane (Legs, stomach, back & forearms...ahh the joys (again)).

Had a brown belt & was going for my black when I left school & decided to move to Devon and be a cow man for a living.
Did that for three years till trouble with the "fairer sex" forced me to "Flee".

Moved around the country for several years doing odds & *ods including door work, semi professional drumming, electronic engineering & motorcycle couriering (dispatcher) for 4-5 years in 'London Tooown"
Innit Geezer!

At some point ended up in Norwich (lived there for 10 years) doing Muay Thai @ Ranong East (although I have trained with the "Thais" in Bangkok).

Spent my weekends cheesey quaving          (raving)...
Because I was a cheesey Quaver                    (Raver).

Joined the Muay thai tournament team & then left due to my ex becoming "problematic". (Can you see a pattern emerging?!).....lol.

Have had more street fights than I care to remember ...always under duress of course!   :),   including having my throat slit in the 80's by a gang of NF skins who knew I was heavily involved in the Anti Nazi league/rock against racism....Not nice people to do business with.

Now spend my days repairing and building PC's (although I am actually an MCSE MCP+I), I have several drum pupils....& also Buy and sell bits and Bobs on Ebay........primarily "high-end "cables.....

I also Manage a friends holiday flat down in Italia (Ventigmelia)

And that is a slice of a very nice cheese cake - thanking you!

Nam Myoho Renge Kyo.

And if you ever train with me - don't be surprised if I can't/don't speak (but that's another story).

SMILE ON!
(ohh how very interesting        ;)               ).
And the pic is of my Dog aka Bendy.
